Phiona

    Mostly

    Jacques

    Jacques

Mostly was always in motion (hence the blurred image). He was rescued from a neglectful breeder as a puppy. He died suddenly of heart failure.

    Jacques

    Jacques

    Jacques

Jacques was abandoned by his owner on a deserted country road. We had been treating him for seizures and malignant mast cell tumors, but he passed away six months after we adopted him.

    Diego

    Jacques

    Diego

Diego was rescued at age five when his owners planned to have him euthanized for "aggressive behavior"  (which we never saw). He passed away a month following surgery for a malignant abdominal tumor.

    Lewis

    Chiquita

    Diego

Lewis was a Boer goat rescued 19 years ago. He basically died of old age.  He was a member of the family. We will miss him terribly.

    Teddy

    Chiquita

    Chiquita

Teddy passed away from lung cancer. He was only with us for two years, but was a wonderful addition to the "big dog" pack.

    Chiquita

    Chiquita

    Chiquita

Chiquita spent a year in a shelter before we adopted her. She was diagnosed with lymphoma soon after, but had a good year before she died.

    Another Appalling Puppy Mill

700 dogs were rescued from a puppy mill in Georgia. Dogs were piled together in crates, covered in feces, completely neglected. We took in Joe who was pathologically fearful, avoiding all human contact.

Joe is here for rehabilitation and socialization. He wouldn't let any person come near, but,a year later, he's made great progress, even allowing a bit of human contact.

    Help Us Help Them

We know that events like these will always be common because we take in special needs animals. Even so, it's really rough on all of us, especially when so many occur in a short period of time.

We welcome and sincerely appreciate donations to offset our recent veterinary costs.
